- Woodshed Smokehouse in Fort Worth. Great BBQ.
- The Stockyards National Historic District in Fort Worth. Millions of cattle were shipped across the country from here from 1889 through the 1950s. Gave Fort Worth the nickname “cowtown”.
- Every day at 11:30 am and 4:00 pm there is a cattle drive. They’re not the most enthusiastic cows, but it’s a nice touch.
- How often do you get to do this?
- Enjoying local “Buffalo Butt” beer at Booger Red’s Saloon.
- Just a family of longhorns out for a stroll. Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge.
- Ooooooo-klahoma! Elk Mountain trail in the Wichita Mountains.

- Kansas City Union Station interior. Former headquarters of the Fred Harvey corporation. It has seen busier days.
- Epic brunch at Succotash in KC’s Crossroads Arts District.
- We never pass up a brewery tour. Boulevard makes some wonderful beers not sold in IL.
- Hannibal Missouri, home of Mark Twain. This is not a movie set.
