Moab, Utah 2021 Gallery

Images from our recent trip to Moab, featuring Arches National Park, the Island In The Sky and Needles districts of Canyonlands National Park, and Fisher towers. Red rock is heavily featured and the LaSal mountains play a prominent supporting role as the backdrop to the entire region. Click to full size slideshow for captions.

At 290 feet, Landscape Arch is the widest span in Arches National Park.

This is a unique view of the famous Delicate Arch from a distance. It appears as the thin fin of rock just left of center here.
Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky section. We hiked 8 miles out and back on the Lathrop Trail.
The first 1.5 miles of the Lathrop Trail are flat grasslands, but then you see the edge in the distance...
The rest of the trail clings to the edge of a 1,200 ft bluff and then descends all the way to the White Rim Road.

The Needles District of Canyonlands. We did a 15 mile hike to Chesler Park and Druid Arch.
On the way to Chesler Park near Elephant Hill.
The Joint Trail follows this cavern and then a narrow crack for a quarter mile or more.
Chesler Park is ringed by the red and white striped towers that give the Needles district its name.
Between Chesler Park and Elephant Canyon, some of the most impressive terrain on the hike.
Druid Arch. The arch itself is 150 feet tall and the peak is 400 feet above the canyon floor.
