On our “chiller” day in Gros Morne we visited the Tablelands. This is an area where the rocks of the Earth’s Mantle got folded up until they were exposed at the surface. There are very few minerals in the rock, so nothing much grows, making it look like a bit of Mars surrounded by greenery.
